Iron Hill in Huntingdon Valley is Back, Plus Five Other Things That Opened While You Weren’t Looking
Huntingdon Valley is not a town that does grand openings with a marching band. Things simply appear. You’re driving up the Pike on autopilot, thinking about anything else, and suddenly there’s a barbershop where there wasn’t one, or the lot at 785 Huntingdon Pike is full again after nine months of sitting empty.
So consider this a catch-up. Here’s what’s new, what’s back, and what’s worth a visit before everyone else figures it out.
Iron Hill Brewery reopened, and the backstory is worth knowing
In September 2025, Iron Hill abruptly closed all sixteen of its locations and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy carrying roughly $20 million in debt. Our location went dark for nine months.
Then Jeff Crivello, formerly CEO of Famous Dave’s, acquired the lease and reopened it on June 22, 2026. Here’s the part I find genuinely notable: ours is the only Iron Hill in the Philadelphia suburbs that came back. Not Ardmore, not Media. Us.
The beer garden is back too, which is a nice piece of trivia: it was the chain’s first when it opened here in 2016. There’s also a Hop Chase IPA brewed exclusively for this location, which you can’t get anywhere else.

Andhra 2 America
This one began as a food truck in North Carolina and is now a full-service restaurant at 2651 Huntingdon Pike, an origin story that usually signals someone who knows exactly what they’re doing.
The specialty is Andhra-style cuisine from India’s southeastern coast, which is known for genuine heat. Not “the menu says medium and it arrives as ketchup” heat. Chicken 65, biryani, paneer curries, tandoori. Order accordingly.

Puzik Barbershop
This barber shop is on Huntingdon Pike on the upper floor of an older historic feeling building. It has a cool style and the barbers are not just cutting hair, they are artists. They have an impressive book of cuts and great reviews. I brought my son for his back to school haircut and they did a fantastic job. I highly recommend it. (puzikbarbershop.com)
Just over the line, in Willow Grove
Nudy’s Cafe, the 46-year-old family-owned breakfast institution, is opening at the Willow Grove Shopping Center, its sixteenth location, and what the company calls a first step into the northern suburbs of Montgomery and Bucks. Oola’s Bowls is landing in the same center with açaí and pitaya bowls.
Not technically ours, but close enough that you’ll end up there on a Saturday.
Why I keep track
I follow what’s opening around here partly because it’s my job, but mostly because commercial activity is one of the more honest signals a neighborhood gives off. Empty storefronts say one thing. A shuttered brewery that a serious operator fights to bring back says something quite different.
When a buyer chooses our corner of Montgomery County over every other suburban location available, that’s a meaningful vote of confidence. Buyers register this even when they can’t name it. I’ve watched people fall for a house and then drive the surrounding blocks, and the drive is what decides them.
